The first group is intentionally small
The Founding Beta is recruiting 25 contactable testers across iPhone, iPad hardware keyboards, terminal coding agents, tmux, and homelab or Tailscale networks. A wider public TestFlight group opens only after the first cohort clears the critical workflows.
Use a non-critical environment. Beta terminal software
can disconnect or send unintended input. Keep another recovery path and
never make Skerry your only access to a production system.
Current boundaries
- Requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or newer and an SSH server you are authorized to use.
- tmux is required for Skerry's native tmux controls.
- No Mosh, jump-host, forwarding, cloud sync, or keyboard-interactive authentication yet.
- iOS may suspend background networking; Skerry recovers when it returns to the foreground.
